Prerequisites

In order to successfully complete the tasks in the workshop you should have:

• Node.js installed on your machine (v10 or higher)
• A basic understanding of HTTP-based web APIs (e.g. REST)

What you'll do

In this workshop, you'll learn the basics of GraphQL server development.

You'll start by getting comfortable writing GraphQL queries and mutations, looking at GraphQL from the "consumer-side" (lesson 1).

Then, you'll start learning about the GraphQL schema, which is the core component of every GraphQL server (lesson 2).

Finally, you'll build your own GraphQL server from scratch! You start out with a simple implementation that returns data from an in-memory array instead of an actual database (lesson 3). Later, you'll add a SQLite database to persist the data of your GraphQL server (lessons 4 and 5).
